3 Exercises To Help Loosen Those Stiff Joints

3 Exercises To Help Loosen Those Stiff Joints from Elevate Fitness Gyms in Syracuse, NY

If you have been struggling lately with your joints then this article is here to give you some helpful tips and tricks on how to feel better. Stiff joints don’t have to be an everyday occurrence, nor do they have to be something you just learn to live with. Sometimes just moving around helps loosen up those joints. If all else fails take a trip to your doctors to see what they recommend, they may refer you to a physio. Alternatively, you could arrange to see a chiropractor to get their hands on those joints.

Yoga is a great gentle workout if you are finding your joints stiffening up. You can do this in the comfort of your own home by following along with yoga workout videos online or through your television. You can also attend yoga groups in your local area if you find a suitable one. If you don’t want to join a group on your own, ask some of your friends if they will go along with you. Be aware that not all yoga classes work for loosening your joints. For instance, if you attend an advanced yoga class, this will make things worse. You should be on the lookout for beginners’ yoga or even restorative yoga. These work with your joints and aid in them being more mobile and flexible.

If you want an exercise that is gentle on your joints then you should try swimming. It doesn’t have to be swimming laps, how about some aqua aerobics? Anything in the water will do wonders for your muscles and joints. Water helps you feel 50% lighter, this is why it is much easier to move in the water. Swimming is also one of the few exercises that use all your muscles to perform the necessary actions. It is one of the best workouts you can do. Swimming can be great fun when done with friends, get a swimming group together and hit the pool. Alternatively, you could find your local aqua aerobics class and join in with that.

Elliptical Trainer

The last exercise you can do to make sure your joints are supple and stay that way is to jump on an elliptical trainer. Also known as a cross trainer, this piece of equipment works both your arms and legs in such a way it is kind of like walking on air. The great thing about using an elliptical trainer is that it will give you a cardio workout as well as help your joints. It is similar to doing yoga or swimming except you will work up far more of a sweat. 20 minutes on an elliptical trainer is all you need to keep your joints happy and healthy.

Warm-up & Cool-down

On a final note, whenever you exercise it is important to stretch, you can do a warm-up and cool down. This helps you warm up your joints and muscles before you exercise. A cool-down does the same thing and winds down your muscles after your workout.
